Today, Pharma-Safe takes the time to commend an employee who exemplifies the high standards of care we pride ourselves on: Chad Fussell.

Chad Fussell has recently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and medical expertise during two critical patient encounters aboard the L/B Caitlin.

In one instance, Chad skillfully treated a diver experiencing barotrauma during decompression in the dive chamber.

Under the guidance of corporate medical director Dr. Ricky McShane, Chad performed a detailed assessment, noting inflammation in the ear canal and blood behind the tympanic membrane.

The patient was treated with pseudoephedrine for decongestion and warm compresses, resulting in significant symptom relief.

Chad’s precise documentation and timely communication with HSE and the client PIC, John Hoard, ensured seamless coordination of care.

In another incident, Chad managed a 5 cm full-thickness laceration on a patient’s left hand with exemplary skill. Following thorough irrigation and anesthetization of the wound, Chad performed a precise closure using 5.0 Prolene sutures.

The laceration was dressed, immobilized with a splint, and secured with coban. Chad effectively collaborated with Dr. McShane, HSE, and the client PIC to determine the best course of action and provided clear follow-up instructions for the patient, ensuring an excellent outcome.

These cases highlight Chad’s dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure, reflecting PharmaSafe’s high standards of care and professionalism.
